Dometic - Fridges, Coolboxes, Cookers, Toilets & Electronics

Dometic are manufacturers of boat, caravan, motor home, lorry and car leisure equipment designed to make living and travel as convenient as possible. Dometic specialise in portable and built-in refridgeration and cooling, portable compact toilets, battery chargers, inverters and even cookers.

Following on from the invention of the refrigerator between 1919-1922 by Baltzar von Platen and Carl Munters, two Swedish inventors, the fridge became an instant success. Original production began with the firm 'Artic' (very appropiately named!). Artic where very quickly bought by Electrolux, an expanding home appliance company. It wasn't until the 1950's that the liesure market started to boom and mobile fridges became popular.

Domtetic became an independant arm of the EQT equity firm in 2001 with the sole purpose of designing, manufacturing and offering specific products for the liesure market, more precisely, products that made mobile living easy. Today Dometic invest a great deal into excellently built products that will last, whilst pressing forward with new technologies and designs to produce the most efficient and useful mobile gadgets on the market.
