The British Seagull® Outboard fuel taper needle for British Seagull Outboard engines fitted with Villiers carburettors.
There are two British Seagull Villiers carburettor taper needles avaible, the 10:1 and the 25:1 needle.
The British Seagull conversion needle is suitable for engines fitted with the Villiers carburettor only.
The simple answer is yes, British Seagull engines fitted with the Villiers carburettor before 1978 will have the 10:1 ratio needle fitted as standard from the factory. You can change the needle to the 25:1 needle to change the ratio. Changing the ratio will be more cost effective on the fuel mixture but if your engine is to be used for very few occasions per year it may be more beneficial for the engine to continue to use the original 10:1 ratio.
Please note: Always use unleaded petrol and good quality marine outboard two-stroke oil (not motorcycle or agricultural oil).
