Dometic SinePower DSP-212 Sine Wave Inverter - 150W Information
This compact sine wave inverter turns 12 volts into pure 230 volts for running low-power mains devices up to 150 watts from your vehicle battery. With overload, overheat & voltage protection.
The pure sine wave technology makes the 230 volt output power suitable for high tech, sensitive eletronic devices such as laptops, tablets and smartphones.
What is a pure sine wave inverter?
A pure sine wave inverter produces output power with a clean, undisturbed 'curved' power wave making the output power more stable and clean. This power is more sustable for sensitive electronics such as laptops, DVD players, coffee machines and smartphones etc. If you do not need such a stable form of power and are running more basic gadgets perhaps the Dometic PerfectPower Modified Sine Wave Inverters is more suited to your needs.
How does the Dometic SinePower inverters operate?
To operate simply plug the 12 volt 'cigarette' plug into a 12 volt socket and your 230 volt appliance into the UK three pin socket and the inverter will power and charge your device. There is a convienently placed on/off switch on the front with a status LED for indication of use and troubleshooting.
Along with the UK three pin plug socket there is a USB port for charging.
What protection does the Dometic Perfect Power Inverter provide for my electronics?
The Dometic DSP-212 sine wave inverter comes with a mounting bracket and on board protection including:
- Overvoltage shutdown: The inverter shuts itself off when the voltage exceeds the cut-off value. It restarts when the voltage returns to the restart value.
- Undervoltage shutdown: The inverter shuts itself off when the voltage sinks below the cut-off value. It restarts when the voltage rises to the restart value.
- Excess temperature shutdown: The inverter switches off when the temperature inside the device or the temperature on the cooling element exceeds a cut-off value. It restarts when the voltage rises to the restart value.
- Overloading and short circuit shutdown: The LED on the inverter indicates an operating fault when an excess load is connected or a short circuit has occurred.
This protection makes the Dometic DSP212 inverter compatible with many modern style car alternators as well (do check the manufacturers instructions of your vehicle for compatibility of course).
