The alternative WaterMota Pre-Crossflow oil filter is a short paper element type filter held within a metal housing. The housing can be removed so that the paper element filter can be accessed and replaced. It is necessary to replace the oil filter regularly (at the very minimum this should be once a season); it is normally replaced whilst doing an oil change.
The short paper element oil filter was occasionally installed on WaterMota Pre-Crossflow engines that were installed in confined spaces; such as on some Freeman 26's for example.
You can upgrade the WaterMota Pre-Crossflow paper element oil filters to the more modern Crossflow Oil filter by replacing the oil pump.
Which WaterMota engine is this suitable for?
The WaterMota oil filter is suitable for the majority of WaterMota Pre-Crossflow petrol engines including the WaterMota Sea Wolf Mk1 and WaterMota Sea Tiger Mk1 as long as it has the short oil filter fitted, you cannot interchange the short and long pre-crossflow oil filters..
