British Seagull® Recoil Starter Clutch Unit locates on the starter casing top spigot, and when wound by the British Seagull Outboard Recoil Starter Recoil Spring & Cord Carrier and British Seagull Outboard Starter Cord, engages with the British Seagull Outboard Recoil Starter Starter Cups to turn the British Seagull Outboard Crankshafts to start the engine.
If you are experiencing recoil issues then it is most likely wear on the starter cup, rather than the clutch unit itself.
This part is suitable for all British Seagull Outboard engines fitted with a recoil unit, including the Wipac and QB series of recoil ignition systems.
