The Jabsco 653-0001P impeller kit includes a neoprene impeller (suitable for pumping water) featuring a slotted shaft pin drive and six blades; the kit also includes popular gaskets and lubricant to help replace your old engine water pump impeller.

Answer: The only difference between these two impellers is the number of blades, the dimensions and fitting are the same. The 653 impeller has 6 blades and the 18653 impeller has 10 blades. As a rule of thumb, the more blades an impeller has the more pressure it can produce. At this size of impeller, the difference probably won't be noticeable. However, it is best practice to replace the impeller like-for-like with the original fitment impeller.
