The Ultraflex M66 is a heavy duty boat steering cable with a black protective casing, stainless steel steering rod and eye for connection, and 7/8" UNF threaded connection nut.
The steering cable you require for your boat is largely dependent on the type of cable that was already used, it is important to identify the style of the end which fits into the steering helm. If possible look along the cable for a part number which is usually in white towards one end. If you can't find a part number don't the cable you will need to measure it as per the instructions below.
The Ultraflex M66 steering cables feature a notched style helm connection which can be used with bolt through or quick release helms including:
The heavy duty M66 steering cable can also be used with old discontinued helms using the Ultraflex K66 adapter:
Firstly remove your old steering cable from your boat, then measure the length of the plastic conduit in cm. Add 56cm to the conduit length then divide the result by 30.5 to convert the measurement into feet. Finally round the number up to the nearest complete foot. This will give you the length of your existing steering cable.
To measure the cable in feet simply measure the plastic conduit in inches, add 18" to the length and round it up to the nearest foot.
