Copper Sealing Washers

Copper sealing washers are soft metal gaskets designed to create leak-proof seals in high-pressure and high-temperature marine systems, frequently used on marine diesel engines, steering systems, drain plugs, etc.

Copper sealing washers, or crush washers, are flat rings made from annealed (softened) copper. When compressed between two metal surfaces, typically under a bolt head or threaded fitting, the washer deforms slightly. This controlled deformation fills microscopic surface imperfections, creating a tight, reliable seal.

Because copper is both malleable and highly resistant to corrosion, it is ideal for marine environments where moisture, saltwater, heat, and pressure are constant challenges.
