Tinned copper earth bonding wire for equalising static electricity charge between the bonded objects on your boat to reduce the risk of a spark occurring.
As part of the Boat Safety Scheme, it is usually necessary to bond fuel tanks to an earth point to discharge any static electricity. The earth point should be in direct electrical contact with the surrounding water such as the sea cock or stern gear.
On a Freeman 22, 23, 26, 24, 28 or 27 you will generally require a 2.5m pack of bonding wire. The bonding wire can be connected to one of the bolts on the fuel filler down to the bonding lug on the fuel tank and then to the rudder gland. It must be connected directly to bare metal.
