SMD LED 10-30v Small Bayonet Ba15d Bulbs

Low voltage, efficient LED bulbs with 18 Surface Mount (SMD) LED's and a small bayonet Ba15d fitting that is suitable for 10-30v light fittings. Designed to be used in bulkhead lights, ceiling lights as the light projects in all directions.

It can be quite important to preserve power usage onboard a boat or caravan. When everything is in operation there can be quite a demand on the battery power so conservation maybe important.

SMD LED bulbs are slowly becoming more efficient and in some cases the more practical option. New methods of manufacture are also slowly making these bulbs an economic option to have onboard too.

The characteristics of LED's means the light that is emitted is actually quite a bit different from the standard incandescent or halogen bulbs we are more used to. LED's produce a very direct and powerful light, unlike halogen where the light is diffused evenly from the central element. However, when LED bulbs are placed into light fittings with a lens it can help to diffuse the light more evenly.

This particular bulb fits directly into the original Freeman cabin light fittings found on many of the Freeman Cruisers. It also fits the standard replacement light fitting as a direct replacement bulb, along with many other bayonet light fittings.

What is an SMD LED?

An SMD LED or Surface Mount LED is a light-emitting diode that is mounted and soldered onto a circuit board. It appears as a flat, square 'egg' within the bulb. Each bulb features different amount of the SMD LED's depending on the brightness and colour.
