The BEP 12/24-Volt Digital Voltage Sensitive Relay (VSR) automatically manages dual battery systems on boats, it automatically connects and disconnects battery banks based on voltage levels, eliminating manual switching and protecting your starting battery from accidental discharge.

The BEP 12/24-Volt Digital Voltage Sensitive Relay (VSR) automatically manages dual battery systems on boats and yachts, ensuring reliable engine starting power while efficiently charging auxiliary batteries. 

Suitable for both 12-volt and 24-volt systems, the digital VSR monitors charging voltage from alternators or onboard chargers. When the engine is running and voltage rises above a preset threshold, the relay engages, allowing both the start battery and liesure battery bank to charge simultaneously. When charging stops and voltage drops, the relay isolates the batteries preserving critical starting power.

This automatic process ensures safe, efficient energy management for river boats, yachts, motorboats, RIBs, and commercial vessels.

How does a digital Voltage Sensitive Relay (VSR) work?

  1. Engine Starts - The alternator raises battery voltage.
  2. Voltage Reaches Threshold - The VSR automatically combines battery banks.
  3. Charging Occurs - Both start and house batteries charge simultaneously.
  4. Engine Stops - Voltage drops below cut-off level.
  5. Relay Isolates Batteries - Liesure loads cannot drain the start battery.

This seamless operation removes the risk of human error and improves onboard electrical reliability and is most commonly used on dual battery systems and can be found on boats fitted with bow and stern thrusters which may have sepearate batteries.
