A 20 metre coil of floating rescue line is neatly stored in a throwable safety bag with grab handles at both ends for personnel rescue. The rescue line has a strength of 200Kg.
The bright yellow Crewsaver rescue line is clearly identifiable in case of emergency and is a useful safety product to have on board. The idea of a boat safety line is to provide an easily throwable, carefully stored rope (i.e. not knotted into a ball) that can be thrown out to persons in the water to allow them to stay 'connected' to the boat and not drift too far from it.
The thrower of the 'man-over-board' rescue line has a nylon grab handle at one end to hold or fasten as required. A Velcro tab keeps the rescue rope neatly held in the bag which can be quickly separated in an emergency to allow for throwing to the persons in need. The rescue line rope should be carefully released in an organised manner so that the nylon grab handle on the bag end reaches, or is nearby, to the persons in the water. This will allow them to 'tether' to the boat to avoid floating off too far.
The bag is bright yellow and the rope inside is a mix of yellow and red to achieve a good contrast against the water to aid visibility.
