This Freeman fridge freezer housed in a Freeman mahogany fridge box is an ideal combination for installing a fridge on board. It is a very practical solution to space-saving and the elegant woodwork compliments the woodwork that Freemans are famous for.
The fridge housing is designed to hide away the workings of the 'standard' Freeman fridge while still allowing easy access to the fridge and freezer compartments.
This fridge box is easily mountable to most flat surfaces such as your cockpit floor and is often fitted as a replacement for many helm seat pedestals and allows you to utilise the space often wasted under the helm seat. This fridge box features an overhang edge around the top surface and is supplied unvarnished and unpainted so you are free to apply coatings.
The refrigerator is a side-loading fridge with a separately insulated, detachable, freezer compartment and is ideal for keeping food and drinks cold on board your boat. The 12 or 24-volt fridge freezer has a 41.2-litre capacity fridge and a 4.4-litre capacity freezer unit with a built-in low voltage protector (meaning it will change its setting automatically to try to conserve power if the battery level is too low), an LED-lit compartment, 4 stage temperature setting, internal shelves & door shelf and a multi-stage door lock for venting whilst not in use. The Freeman fridge also has built-in digital controls with LED operation lights, a fast-cool function for getting to a cool temperature more rapidly and a more efficient motor with a built-in heat-sync fan to help disperse unwanted warm air that is an effect of the motor running.
We find that most Freeman Fridge and Freeman Fridge Box installations utilise the space in the cockpit by replacing the helm seat and seat pedestal setup. By installing the Fridge Box and fridge here you attach a helm seat to the top of the Fridge Box providing a sturdy seating position for the captain, whilst positioning the fridge (housed inside the box) as close as possible to the batteries (most commonly found underneath the helm position).
Having said this, you can install a Freeman fridge and fridge box in any practical position onboard.

The helm seat shown illustrates that you can mount a seat on the top and is sold separately. Please also note that the wooden fridge boxes are made from natural raw materials thus the colour and texture may differ depending on the wood used. The box is un-varnished but we can varnish it at a further cost if required so please contact us.
