The Freeman Smiths Negative Earth Voltage Regulator is required to stabilise the voltage when fitting certain electrical Freeman Smiths gauges. The voltage regulator reduces the voltage supplied to the gauges down to 10 volts.
The Freeman Smiths Negative Earth Voltage Regulator is required when fitting Smiths electrical fuel level gauges, electrical water temperature gauges and/or electrical oil temperature gauges. The voltage stabiliser can power up to three gauges.
The voltage regulator must be installed the correct way round and have an independent earth feed, which on a boat will require fitting an extra wire with an eye terminal to the mounting screw and thus touching the body of the voltage regulator.
