The 45cm long suction neck (measured from the outlet pipe to the tip full length 67cm) features a low-lying suction rotor that allows the pump to sit as low as possible in the water so that almost all of the water can be removed. Above the outlet pipe connection you will find the battery compartment and on/off switch.
This emergency electric pump requires two 'D' batteries to operate. They sit inside the dark grey handle section which unscrews for battery insertion (batteries sold separately). The on/off switch sits on the very top of the pump next to an eyelet for tethering if required.
Not only can this battery operated pump remove or transfer water, it is suitable for diesel, petrol, paraffin and light oils. Many boat bilges can be difficult to access, particularly underneath the engine, something that this pump may be able to help you with?
The slim-line nature of the pump and flexibility of the outlet hose makes it relatively compact so potentially easy to store on board too. The pump uses are far reaching, not only useful on board your boat but it may well be useful for other applications such as garden ponds, fish tanks, jerry cans and more.
