Step 2: Style chosen. Create my design.
Freeman Cruiser Cabin Cushions can be created in serval ways:
- Cushion Covers only - Material is cut to a 'standard' cushion pattern to be placed over your existing cushion foam. (The 'standard' pattern is for each particular Freeman boat, e.g. 22 Mk2 or 22 Mk1, 23, 27 etc.)
- Recovering your Existing Cushion Foam - Material is tailored and fitted to your existing cushion foam.
- Complete Set of New Cushions - New cushion foam and covers are tailored to your boat's specifications.
Step 3: The Finish.
Freeman Cruiser Cabin Cushions can be finished in two ways: (see image above for main differences.
- The Classic Freeman - Thick 5" foam with all sides, including the bottom, of the cushions covered in your chosen material. Piped edges around the top and bottom edges and rear zips for sleeve removal to aid cleaning.
- Economy - Thick 5" foam with all sides, except the base, covered in your chosen material. Non-slip cloth material is used on the base and the top edges feature piping whereas the bottom edges do not. Rear zip for sleeve removal to aid cleaning.
What is included with the new Boat Cabin Cushion sets?
All cushion material sets feature durable piping around the edges, zipped covers, to ease removal for washing, and recovering of the front V-Berth side panels where applicable.
When ordering a completely new set of cushions, along with the benefits above, a thick, 5" foam is used and fitted with tailored material covers.
How do I go about ordering a new set of boat cabin cushions?
We will do our best to supply material samples that meet your design inspiration so that you can ponder over the choices on your next voyage. Once you have narrowed down the materials to your chosen one let us know and we can go ahead and begin to make your cushions.
Do I need to bring my old cushions to Sheridan Marine?
This all depends on which route you take. For example, if you order Cushion Covers only we will not require your existing cushions as you will fit the 'standard' pattern covers to your own cushions. However, if we are Recovering your existing Foam we will require your existing cushions and side panels.
If we are making a Complete Set of New Cushions it is a nice idea to bring your old cabin cushions to help pattern the new cushions and your existing side panels to recover if this is possible. Although we have 'standard' patterns that fit very well it can be nice to make sure there is nothing that is significantly different.
If it is really impractical to supply your existing cushions we can make your cushions to our 'standard' patterns (taken from Freeman models e.g. 22 Mk1, 22 Mk2, 23, 27 etc.).
What extras can I add to my new cabin cushions?
Most people tend to opt for a complete set of boat curtains to complete the re-design of the upholstery in the cabin. Freeman boat curtains have hemmed edges, Rufflette style heading tape, and curtain ties.
Top Tip: Consider choosing a matching pair of materials. Why not use a material with a patterned design for the cushions, selecting the complementary material for the curtains?
Can we tailor and fit upholstery away from Sheridan Marine?
