Gurit SP 106 was initially established as a primary epoxy system for the manufacture and repair of wooden boats. With its clear coating finish SP 106 epoxy resin is now used for a wide range of tasks including gluing, coating, laminating and filling boat repairs.
SP 106 Epoxy comes in either a Slow Hardener or a Fast Hardener. The Slow Hardener has a pot life of 30 minutes (150g mixed) with a 2 hour working time (thin film. The Fast Hardener has a pot life of 15 minutes (150g mixed) with a 1 hour working time (thin film). These two choices are useful for different applications and climates.
Usually the environment and the temperature dictates which speed of hardener is most suitable (the hotter the climate the quicker the epoxy will cure) but it may also depend on the work being carried out. For instance, for jobs requiring a long working time the Slow Hardener maybe more useful.
