The J-Type Gearbox M160 Clutch Disc is a friction plate with lugs that compresses with other clutch discs when engaged in the forward gear for forward movement. When disengaged, it allows for a neutral position.
The J-Type Gearbox M160 Clutch Disc is used in conjunction with the J-Type Gearbox M170 Clutch Disc with Teeth, usually comprising three or four of each disc depending on the gearbox model (some may have more).
The J-Type clutch discs should be flat and smooth to allow each disc to allow maximum friction. Worn and/or burnt discs will reduce friction and thus slip more when in forward gear thus, not achieving full power when engaged. Overuse of worn and/or burnt clutch discs can lead to overheating the gearbox, potentially affecting other parts.
