British Seagull Outboard Lock Nut

British Seagull® Outboard Lock Nut secures various parts including many of the British Seagull fuel tanks to the cylinder head flanges and engine bracket support lugs. This anti-vibration nut has a nylon insert that moulds to the thread when tightened, helping to prevent the nut from loosening while the engine is in use.

Where is the B1289L British Steel Lock Nut Used?

It is used on the British Seagull Outboard Fuel Tank to secure most of the original British Seagull metal fuel tanks and some of the British Seagull plastic fuel tanks to the cylinder head flanges. 

This locking nut is also used on many of the British Seagull Outboard Engine Support Brackets as the security nut that tightens on to the British Seagull Outboard Engine Support Lug Stud holding on the British Seagull Outboard Engine Support Lug Caps (this design superseded the nut and security split pin design that is featured on some engines).
