12 Volt Fuel Level Senders

Float-controlled fuel tank sender for 12 volt systems for tank depths between 200mm to 600mm that provides a signal to an appropriate gauge of the liquid level in a tank. This fuel tank sender features stainless steel components, is height adjustable and the float rod is cuttable to suit various installation.

The stainless steel top of the fuel sender has five fixing holes, a rubber seal, electrical earth point (negative), and a spade connector gauge terminal.

Fuel Level Senders - What Resistance?

The fuel level senders work with a sensor that reads the relevant ohms of resistance when the tank is empty and the relevant ohms when the tank is full. These senders are availble as two different options so investigate your system and ensure you select the correct sender as incompatible systems will not work:

  • EC634A operates on the basis of 240 ohms of resistance when the tank is empty and 33 ohms when the tank is full. This type of fuel sender is usually used by American gauge manufacturers and may be found on boats of American origin here in the UK. Common gauges using this resistance to show empty and full could be made by Beede, Faria USA, Medalion, S. Giorgio Sein, Teleflex and Vetus.
  • EC634B operates on the basis of 10 ohms of resistance when the tank is empty and 180 ohms when the tank is full. This type of fuel sender is usually used by European gauge manufacturers and may be found on boats of European origin here in the UK. Common gauges using this resistance to show empty and full could be made by Faria Europe, Guardian, Smiths, Uflex, VDO and Yazaki.
