This fully automated, ignition protected, bilge pump automatically turns on and checks for water approximately every two and a half minutes. During this 'Check', the pump runs for about one second and measures for resistance or drag against the impeller. If resistance (water) is encountered, it will run for as long as water is present. When all the water is pumped out, the pump shuts off and returns to its two and a half minute cycle. Power use during the 'Check' mode is minimal. This pump will consume 0.20 amp hours per day in the 'Check' mode.
Constructed of a tough plastic body with a quick release integral strainer and long lasting stainless steel shaft all combining to create a robust and practical bilge pump and there is no need for a separate float switch.
A third wire is also attached for installing a manual override or warning light and the Rule Bilge Pump Mounting Bracket can be used if mounting to a vertical surface.
This Rule pump should not be run dry for long periods and is not suitable for pumping petrol or diesel. Specific pumps for pumping diesel are also available at Sheridan Marine.
